Igor Tikhonov is a Moscow based media artist, electronic music producer and partly - programmer. Igor began his media experiments in 2004. Approximately in 2005 he took a great interest in visual media programming environments such as Max/MSP and began to develop his own interactive applications and later - MIDI generating programs and sound tools. In 2006 his interests shifted in interactive installations and entertainments area. At present time Igor fully concentrated on his music project Phoiod, which oriented on algorithmic minimal techno with heavily using of Max/MSP. And also, he still is programming Max/MSP applications for alghorithmic audio and MIDI processing, which can be downloaded for free on this web site.

Machinedrum Editor is a program, which controls almost all parameters of Elektron Machinedrum SPS-1 UW beatbox.

At this moment it has these features:

- assigning any machine (including MIDI, Control 8 and ROM/RAM) to any track
- every machine has its own UI
- controls machine, track effect and routing parameters with feedback (you turn knobs in MD - they turns in editor too)
- controls master FX with feedback
- controls LFOs with feedback
- hardware output routing for any track

The 'Life' game by John Horton Conway emulates live cells activity, which can be used as intelligent source of modulation or grid-based sequencer. The cell has two states: dead or alive and transforms its state depending on the state of neighbors cells. More details in help files.
If you want to use this external under Windows XP, you need to download and install J2RE (Java 2 Runtime Environment) from www.java.sun.com.

// Algorithmic looper/cutter “Photon”

Photon allows to record (or import as a sample) audio data, split it into the cuts and manipulate them in different ways. Photon can sync external gear (drum machines, samplers, synths etc.) via MIDI and record audio data from them with perfect sync. It also has a number of sequencers, which can control the settings of built-in effects (cuts arrange, cuts reverse, retrigger, filter, spectral threshing and digitizing (digital distortion). Compiled in Windows executable.
